EAR WAX

What are the symptoms of earwax buildup?

At Ear Wax Care, a common question we get is about what is a normal amount of ear wax to have in your ears. As with many things, it can be tricky to know where to draw the line between what is normal, and what ought to be a cause for concern. An important thing to remember when it comes to ear wax is that it is there to protect the ear. Ear wax traps and prevents dust, bacteria, and other germs and small objects from entering and damaging the ear. It’s also important for protecting the delicate skin of the ear canal from getting irritated when water is in the canal.

So, how can I tell if I have ear wax build up? There are many symptoms of having excess ear wax, which may indicate that you need to seek out treatment. For example, you may experience hearing loss, earache or a feeling that your ears are blocked. It’s also possible that you’ll feel a ringing or buzzing in your ears, which is also known as tinnitus.

Ear wax build up happens if your ears produce too much wax, or if ear wax isn’t cleared well enough naturally, it might build up and block your ear canal. Blockages frequently happen when people attempt to get ear wax out on their own by using cotton swabs or inserting other items into your ears. Rather than removing the wax, it really just pushes it further into the ear.

Luckily, our team at Ear Wax Care is here to help you out with alleviating symptoms of ear wax build up. We have a specialised team of clinicians who perform microsuction, a safe and effective procedure. Get in touch with us here at Ear Wax Care to find out how we can help you today!
